after one VERY long year....i am so so happy to report that my guy is finally done with his deployment. I don't think there are words to describe how excited i am about this. I feel as though this past year was really maybe 5 years in disguise.
Phillip got into town friday morning and i was stuck at school having to figure out a way to make the day go by faster so that i could race home to see my boy. I think that was the longest school day of my life...and my quickest drive home (shhh don't tell anyone i sped). I drove up to my house and up pulled that sweet face that i had been dying to see over these past few months. those are the times when you realize that all this difficult stuff is worth it...that all that waiting you've done ...and all the times each of you has missed out on is worth those sweet moments when you get to be together. It was worth the wait.
since Phil will be here for 3 weeks...and i will only be off school 6 out of those 21 days..I wanted to plan fun dates for those few days I have off. before he even got home we had decided that we wanted to make a trip to Muir Woods...we had been drooling over all the dreamy pictures of it online and decided that it would be an awesome place to spend the day in the bay area. So saturday we ditched the valleys 106 degree heat and headed towards the bay area for better views and weather. After crossing the richmond bridge we got into the mill valley area...and saw signs saying " muir woods parking lot full...take shuttle" this wasn't a very good start to our day cause we realized that it was going to be super crowded but we decided that we were going to go to the shuttle area any ways and just do that since we drove all the way there. Then we got to the shuttle area and walked to the line and saw that there was at least 50+ couples in front of us waiting for a shuttle that comes only every 20 min. stink. we then stood in the ridic line and after about 10 min we were like "forget this lets go find something else to do around this joint". We ended up deciding to spend the day in Sausalito and I'm really happy we did! It ended up being one of the best days i've had in a long time. we ate at a super yummy burger place called Napa valley Burger Co...Delish. And then we drove to the top of Hawk Hill and had an amazing view of the golden gate and the surrounding bay...so so pretty! then we decided to just keep driving and stop at all of the random places we came across like the Marine Mammal Center (fail) . It was just a really great day getting to spend time together and explore our surroundings ....now we just need to plan another date to give Muir woods another shot!
a couple crazies waiting to eat!
