Its finally beginning to feel like summer! the sun has made its way into the valley with a vengeance , and loads of kiddos are running around town enjoying their summer break! This past weekend our little town welcomed in summer with the annual Apricot Fiesta....which is basically the biggest thing that happens around here all year long. You see this festival was once around to celebrate our title as being the apricot capital of the world...but now it seems that it has turned into the celebration of "who can drink the most, all while wearing the most ridiculous outfits(if you can call them outfits)" festival. But this of course is not my idea of the fiesta.... since this is a time when all pattersonites are right in one place, this has become an awesome time for our church to reach out to our community and share the love of christ with them. Our church sets up an awesome outreach right on our from lawn giving away free snow cones...face paintings...cotton candy..popcorn...the works. Theres a kiddie pool....bounce houses ...and lemonade in the shade! so many families come in and out all day and its just gives us a great opportunity to love on our community and share truth with them . Our church has also for the past couple of years ,been given the opportunity to lead worship for 2 hours on sunday mornings, on the main stage, smack dab in the center of town...how awesome is that? I think thats my most favorite part of fiesta. its so awesome to hear the praises of his people resound throughout these little streets of ours. i can only hope that it may have made an imprint on a few hearts. It has been such a wonderful past few days....im left here with burnt shoulders/scalp....sore feet..and a stomach full of carnie food...but life is oh so sweet. heres some(or a lot) of pictures to capture my weekend better than my words can! Thanks Yvonne Reynolds for most of these photos!
