I trust you all had a wonderful christmas...i know i sure did! I love this time of year so much, my heart is so full of thanksgiving and joy...and I just feel so blessed beyond measure! I have the most amazing family, savior ..and life, and i am oh so grateful! I don't know what it is about this time of year that brings this sense of thanksgiving...i should really feel this full all year round! I think sometimes i just need a good reminder....to remember the depth of the love that Christ showed by coming on this earth in the form of a baby..to then love me enough to willingly lay himself down on that cross as he did...to be raised to life, and win that victory over the grave, that has now given me the ability to be free from my sin and shame! I often need reminders of the depth of that gift...this season has been good for that!
We celebrating the Birth of Christ this year the same way we do every year and i love it! Christmas Eve was spent opening presents and eating far too much food with everyone on my Dad's side of the family! My mom and dad spent all day preparing everything and we all scarfed it down in a matter of minutes. We also watched A Christmas Story far too many times to count (just as it should be)... there was lots of laughter, and lots of fun!
Christmas Day was a little bit different this year since it fell on a Sunday this time around. We all woke up at 7am so we could have time to open our presents before church! I loved being able to go to church on christmas and spend time worshipping the very savior who this whole day is about! After church we all headed to my Mom's side of the families house in modesto and once again ate way too much ....and got lots of goodies!
Im sad this whole christmas season is over and that i have to wait a whole year again to listen to christmas music and watch marathons of Ralphie eating soap. In Ode to Christmas here are some pictures from my christmas weekend thanks to Instagram!
