Whelp phillip has been gone almost a whole month so far! Some days feel like they go by really fast and others just drag on with no end in sight! luckly over this past month we have been able to talk every day on the phone which has really been a blessing! i can't imagine how they did it way back in the day....where only letters were exchanged. Dont get me wrong, i love getting a hand written note in the mail...but the thing is they take a month to get to one another. this makes it really difficult to get information accross in any kind of timely matter. SO the telephone...oh the telephone, you are amazing! its so refreshing just being able to hear that voice that i love so much reaching through the wire and be reassured that it is all good in "afganiland" as phil would say!
since we knew that talking on the phone was great we finally wanted to try skype this time around. when he was in Iraq a year ago we talked on it all the time and he even called me like a telephone through it. It worked like a gem. This time it wasn't so lovely sadly! The connection was so slow and robotic and it sounds as though he is constantly in the middle of a sand storm! I was pretty bummed about it. I am hoping that once he gets his microphone and tries a few other tricks to make it work that it will end up being better! we shall see!
continue to Keep us in your prayers. this whole deployment thing is proving itself to be just as difficult as i imagined! my mind is continually in countdown mode till i get to see him again on his R&R in January. we cannot wait.....6 months and counting. yay! Although this is all very hard i am resting in the faithfulness of our loving god and the knowledge that he will not give me anything that i cannot handle.
