dream honeymoon! part 1

From the time Phillip and I got engaged, one of the first things i began doing was researching honeymoon locations. We didn't know where we wanted to go but we both knew that the one place we didnt want to go was Hawaii...we figured it was easy to go there and we could do that anytime. We wanted to go somewhere new, and different, and wanted it to be a place that we probably wouldn't be able to go to again. So i searched and searched; we found tons of amazing resorts in some amazing locations. we put deposits on several but they just never felt right,  So we decided to take a break from the planning of the honeymoon and decided to focus on the more important things like wedding details! after months of planning wedding details , we decided to go back to honeymoon searching. After spending so much time doing all the stressful wedding prep we were burnt out...all we wanted at this point was a beautiful place that was going to be relaxing and stress free. so we looked, and looked, and looked some more, and officially booked it at The St. Regis Princeville....in Kauai, Hawaii. Yes we decided on Hawaii and it ended up being the BEST decision. We were obsessed with the place. It was one of the most beautiful places i have layed my small eyes on, both the Island and our Hotel. We were so blessed to be able to stay at the St. Regis. It was so wonderful and we felt like kings and queens the whole time we were there. The service was amazing. We booked our package through Costco of all places ( which was an awesome deal) and we got a free upgrade to an ocean view room. It was INCREDIBLE. we walked in and it was one of those views that took your breath away...not only the first day but every day after that. As soon as we woke up in the mornings i would go over to our giant window and open up all the shutters and windows to let both that amazing view and breeze in. it was something i will never forget.

 our pretty room
the view that we got to enjoy. i would sit in this window every second i could get in. i still miss it!
while we were in kauai one of our favorite things ended up being ...EATING! i adore fish so basically thats what I wanted for every. single.  meal. phil and I talked to the concierge at our hotel, and they gave us some great recommendations that didn't disapoint. Becuase our hotel was located on the North Shore, that's where we spent most of our time....these were our favorite eats!

* Bar Acuda was #1 for us. we loved the Tapas style food and appreciated that the meal changed between our first visit and second....yes we went twice it was that good! The only downside was that it was quite pricey. ....but it was well worth it.

* Kauai Grille - we had an $150 food credit at our hotel through our package and therefore thats why we decided to splurge and go eat here. it ended up being so yummy and convenient since it was just a few floors up from our room! i had the yummiest fish and not to mention the best cosmo i have ever had in my life. so good. It also gave me an excuse to wear my fun jumpsuit i got from Asos.
* Postcards cafe: we ate here for one of our last meals on the island. they had a lot of organic options and fresh fish to choose from. there was also a really cute "homey" atmosphere that i enjoyed

* Pacos Tacos- on our way back from Waimea we stopped at this little joint on the side of the room. we were starving and really wanted to eat wherever we could find a place. Im so glad we decided to pull over! I had a bomb fish taco (see a theme here) and phil ate a fish burrito! yummy!
* The Dolphin - we ate lunch here one afternoon and sadly never got to make it back for dinner...i hear the dinner is killer. but i had some super yummy fish tacos again haha and phil ate some type of fish sandwhich...we really like fish...and we really liked this place. its right along the Hanalei river so its got a pretty fun atmosphere. you can see people kayaking and paddle boarding by as you eat.

Although all of these were delish i think the meals I most enjoyed though, were the ones spent on the terrace during our daily breakfast buffet. It was that view again. It knocked your socks off. the prettiest breakfast view i have ever had , and probably will ever have

More to come about some of the fun activities we got to enjoy!
