the best kind of days

This past weekend was the kind of weekend that i look forward too all month long. The kind of weekend i dream about when my days start blending into one heaping pile of hairstyles and roller sets, and it seems like days since i've last had a time to just relax. So when labor day rolled around , this girl right here was beaming! Oh! and i forgot the best part...did i mention my boy was home!
I am so grateful that though phil is in the army and is stationed all the way in texas, that he still is able (and takes the time and money) to fly home to me each month to come see me ! what a guy right? these times when he's home make my days oh so sweet and i just feel a little bit lighter as I'm floating around doing what i do!
phillip flew in early friday morning and i ditched class early to go see him when he arrived home from the airport! i then convinced him that he needed to come in on saturday to my school to get some treatments done (aka a facial and manicure) so that i would be able to hang out with him all day as well as get things done that i had to! prefect right? after a little convincing he agreed, and the next day was spent pampering my boy with a new set of beautiful man hands and a glowing complexion that could put the stars to shame (brownie points? haha ) ...it was a success if i do say so myself!
When sunday rolled around, thats when the real fun began. We decided to take a short drive up to Sonora, Ca which is one of our most favorite places to go. I feel like it is always on the list of trips, and although we have gone far too many times for the average person....i always feel as though squeezing in one more trip will always be right in my world.  So we spent time there and then drove up to Pinecrest where we soon realized how big of a mistake it was, when everyone and there mother was there. (oh yeah it was labor day weekend). we dorked around a bit and then decided to drive down the mountain and go eat some dinner! dinner consisted of a bomb turkey burger and garlic fries that were too die for. Now you see this meal was amazing for the good 20 min that i was working on it...but soon after ,it was one of those meals where you think you are going to die. yeah kill over and die. Garlic fries, curse you. i ended up spending the rest of our hour+ ride home in the car half asleep and hunched over in attempts of avoiding the ever so present feeling that i was going to puke. awesome. after a couple Tums later this girl recovered and the rest of our evening was spent watching too many episodes of house hunters and talking about all the things that make my heart smile. Had such a great weekend (minus a few minor bumps in the road) with my best boy and friend. I need more days like these!

*side note* If you couldn't tell by the pictures...i bit the bullet and went and got myself an ombre! took myself a bit to get used too , but I'm now loving the subtle change
