(my new spring inspired nails haha)
Ever since i can remember i have always had a love of playing with hair...doing makeup, and making people feel pretty! it was always just a hobby and something i did on friends when they had events to go to or just wanted to change things up a bit for the day! but after 3 years of attending a university..never finding anything I loved...i knew what i wanted to do...the one thing i have wanted to do forever! I wanted to make a living doing that i've always loved ....I was going to be a cosmetologist. after months and months of having to put off my plans for multiple reasons (one including ankle surgery) i finally started my search to find that right school that fit me. after visiting one and not loving it at all i went to my final choice...which i ended up loving. the only shocker was that i was going to have to start on that tuesday..(i visited the school on friday). I felt semi overwhelmed with making such a large financial and time commitment at the drop of a hat...but after praying about it i had a peace about it and decided to go for it...and i am so so happy I did.
I ended up getting placed in a wonderful class with only 8 other people making our class a cozy little group of 9. most of the other classes in the school are around 18-20 people. I love having a small group to work with ...it gives you a better opportunity to learn as well as bond with the people around you. These 8 people i am in glass with for 6 hours a day come from so many different walks of life..all from different backgrounds, and all have a different way of looking at things...it has been such an interesting 3 weeks just getting to learn about them and I have learned a ton already thats for sure! lets just say i have been reminded how absolutely blessed i am to have had the life that i've had....that i didn't grow up in a family of drug addicts...that i didn't get pregnant when i was 13....that i have people around me who support and love me...and that i have found my firm foundation. i see this next year i have with these women ( and man) to be a huge ministry opportunity and i pray that i can represent christ to them and that they would find what can make them beautiful... to see that it doesn't come from pretty hair, or well manicured nails, but from Christ who is the only once who can make something truly beautiful out of us.
definitely be praying for me and for the opportunities that i know i am going to have! So far it has been so much fun and i am truly enjoying my time at school finally after so many years! I'm looking forward to what this next year holds!
